Carly Rae Jepsen Inspired By Justin Bieber: ‘I Love That He Works Hard And Has Fun’
Carly Rae Jepsen looks up to Justin Bieber. Really.
The Canadian pop star said she looks to the other famous Canadian singer for tips on how to let loose and handle fame. Speaking to Seventeen Magazine’s March issue, Carly Rae Jepsen said she learned from Bieber how to cut loose.
“Justin leads by example. I love that he works hard and has fun,” she said. “I was in Paris promoting my new album, Kiss, for three days with no time off. So I went out at four in the morning to go explore the entire city. I try to make moments happen that feel very special and memorable because that’s exactly how Justin does it.”
Carly Rae Jepsen might have plenty more to celebrate very soon. Her monster hit Call Me Maybe is nominated for song of the year and best pop vocal performance at the Grammy’s on February 10. The song spent nine weeks atop the Billboard Top 100 Chart and solt 6.7 million tracks in the US.
“I was gunning maybe for Top 10 on iTunes. That was my little, mini secret goal,” Jepsen told The Associated Press.
Even if she’s cutting loose like Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen still carves out time for her boyfriend, singer Matthew Koma, Radio.com noted.
“When you meet the right person, you’re just like, ‘Wow! I’m having the busiest year of my life and somehow I’ve met an amazing person who has been a grounding force.’ I don’t think anything can get in the way if you both really want it badly,” Carly Rae Jepsen said.
