Shakira Baby Photo: Singer Shares First Picture Of Newborn Son
Latin pop star Shakira has debuted the first photo of her newborn baby boy Milan Pique Mebarak.
The image, released just two weeks after Shakira and her husband Garard Pique welcomed Milan into the world, shows an adorable moment between father and son in which the FC Barcelona star gently kisses his sleeping baby on the cheek.
Shakira’s decision to show off baby Milan comes after the singer teased fans last week with a picture of the baby’s feet adorned with a white pair of custom Nike sneakers.
In addition to debuting baby Milan’s first photo, Shakira has urged people to donate to a virtual baby shower on behalf of needy children helped by the U.N. children’s agency.
Gift choices range from $5 to $110 and include therapeutic food, polio vaccines, and mosquito nets.
Baby shower guests may also win prizes like a CD or DVD signed by Shakira or an FC Barcelona shirt signed by Gerard.
A statement from the parents reads:
“We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations.
“Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us.”
The 36-year-old Colombian singer also used social media to urge her many Twitter followers to help support the charitable cause.
“Visit out @Unicef #Babyshower to see the 1st pic of my 2 angels & help underprivileged babies,” she tweeted Monday.
According to Fox News, Shakira and her hubby have been global ambassadors for UNICEF since 2003 are and very involved with philanthropic projects through her non-profit “Pies Descalzos.”
