New adventures are finally headed to Skyrim. Playstation 3 owners who have waited patiently for the game’s trio of DLC packs can now mark a handful of release dates on their calendars.
The release dates arrived courtesy of The Bethesda Blog . After announcing that Dragonborn , Dawnguard , Hearthfire , and the 1.8 title update had been cleared for certification by the SCEA, the company unveiled information virtual adventurers have been waiting patiently to receive.
Playstation 3 fans living in Europe may still have a while to wait. The company doesn’t have any information regarding the release of the DLC in other territories as of this writing.
The Inquisitr previously reported that PS3 and PC fans have been eager to get their hands on the Skyrim DLC that has been available on the Xbox 360 for quite some time. After porting the content to the Playstation 3 proved difficult, Bethesda and Sony revealed that the add-ons would experience a significant delay.
Last December, the team behind the latest installment in the Elder Scrolls series said they opted to put the focus on Dragonborn instead of the previously-released DLC in order to prevent a similar delay.
The company said in a statement:
“We’re hard at work to make this content available early next year on PS3 and PC. On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to ‘Dragonborn,’ as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn’t want folks to wait longer.
“Once it’s ready to go for everyone, we’ll continue our previous work on ‘Hearthfire’ and ‘Dawnguard’ for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and attention to work well in all circumstances and all combinations of DLC. Once we have a better idea of release timing and pricing, we’ll let you know.”
Bethesda has announced that Dragonborn will be available for Playstation 3 owners on February 12. Hearthfire will arrive on February 19, while Dawnguard is slated for release on February 26. Are you looking forward to the Skyrim DLC?
