Dan Marino Admits To Having Love Child With Mistress
Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino made a shocking confession Wednesday when he admitted to having a child with his mistress.
Marino made the announcement on the same day he celebrated his 28th wedding anniversary with his wife, Claire.
In 2004, Marino had an affair with a 35-year-old CBS Sports production assistant named Donna Savattere. She gave birth to a daughter, Chloe, in June 2005. Sources with knowledge of the situation told the New York Post that Marino paid Savattere millions of dollars to keep the affair quiet.
At the time of the affair, he and his wife had been married for 20 years. They have six children, including four sons and two adopted daughters.
In a statement to the Post, Marino wrote:
“This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”
Marino went on to say, “My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together. And we continue to be a strong and loving family.”
As a result of the payments made by Marino, Savettere has made quite a life for herself. She temporarily moved to Texas before returning to New York, where she owns homes in the Hamptons and the Upper West Side. In 2009, she married Nahill Younis and has been trying to change her daughter’s last name to his.
As part of a deal with Savettere, Marino has contact with his daughter, who will be 8 years old in June.
Are you surprised that Dan Marino not only had an affair but had a child with his mistress?
