Fayetteville, AR – Sunny Cross, the victim on the first episode of MTV’s Catfish , was arrested this morning for a suspected DWI.
TMZ reports that Cross was nabbed around 2:40 am for driving too close to another vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road, and, lastly, for driving while intoxicated.
She failed a field sobriety test and reportedly had red, watery eyes. The report said that she also smelled of alcohol. She blew .08 on a breathalyzer at the detention center around 3:39 am, reports 5News .
She posted a $1,055 bond and was released at 9:39 am.
Cross appeared on the very first episode of the popular MTV show Catfish , which follows Nev Schulman’s attempts to connect people who have been engaged in long-term online relationships with each other in real life.
A big focus of the show is revealing some of the deceit that goes hand-in-hand with online dating, as some of the persons behind the online profiles don’t always turn out to be who they say they are.
In the first episode, Cross’ internet boyfriend, Jamison, claimed to be a model and TV writer but ended up being a girl named Chelsea when they met in person.
Cross has also been following her own story, posting several tweets about the incident (and shaming TMZ for apparently fibbing):
Well I guess it’s safe to say last night was an epic fail.
