Bachelor Sean Lowe’s Mom: ‘No Steamy Hot Tub Makeout Scenes, Please’

The Bachelor‘s Sean Lowe has admitted that his mother warned him against getting into too many steamy love scenes, so as not to embarass her on TV.

The 29-year-old insurance agent had a southern gentleman air about him during his appearance on The Bachelorette last year, but now that he’s the center of his own show, he’ll have numerous opportunities to get “intimate” with his 26 potential wives-to-be, reports MSN.

Prior to filming, Lowe told Us Weekly that his mother advised him to be on his best behavior while he’s on The Bachelor. He explained:

“For the most part, my family said, ‘Just be yourself. You’re going to be great.’ But my mom did make it a point to say, ‘Please limit your hot tub makeout scenes for my sake.’ I don’t know if I necessarily held up my end of that bargain, but hopefully mom’s not too embarrassed by what she sees.”

His mother might be referring to Lowe’s hot tub makeout scene with Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette last year. He was sent home in third place shortly thereafter.

But now that Lowe is center stage, what kind of girl is he looking for?

“I don’t want a girl that’s self-absorbed,” he says.

He’s also well-aware of the tough decisions he’ll have to make as he goes down the list of 26 potential mates.

“I knew going into it that I was going to have to break some hearts,” he admits. “And I said to myself that if it leads to what hopefully will be a great ending, then I’m okay with it.”

“I’m myself, and I’m genuine. and if that comes across as sensitive at times, then I’m okay with that,” he says.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8pm EST on ABC.
