Bethenny Frankel Hired Katie Holmes’ Divorce Attorney
Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy appear to be gearing up for a divorce battle. Frankel reportedly hired Katie Holmes’ divorce attorney, Allen E. Mayefsky. Initial statements after the former Real Housewives of New York star announced the split indicated the proceedings would be an amicable endeavor.
Allen E. Mayefsky is allegedly known for his tough and ruthless nature in the courtroom, Radar Online notes. The New York lawyer became even more well-known after settling the Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise divorce in less than one month.
Divorce paper shared by In Touch indicate the SkinnyGirl has enlisted the law firm of Aronson, Mayefsky, and Sloan to get the termination of her marriage finalized. Both Jason Hoppy, a pharmaceutical sales executive and Frankel have both filed for custody of their daughter. Little Bryn, 2, will likely be too young to ever recall living as a family with both her parents.
A Radar Online source had this to say about the Jason Hoppy and Bethenny Frankel divorce:
“Jason will absolutely not allow Bethenny to make him a part time dad on her terms. Jason will fight tooth and nail to have an active and meaningful presence in Bryn’s life.”
Both the former reality show personality and the sales executive want exclusive use of their $5 million apartment in New York. Jason and Bethenny went public with their separation in late December. Frankel announced she had filed for divorce right after the 2013 began. The now estranged couple both appeared on Bethenny Ever After. The show focused on their married life, which lasted roughly two years.
