For those who were fans of music that was popular back in the 90s, specifically pop, the reunion of 98 degrees, Boyz II Men, and New Kids On The Block may just be the best news you have heard all day. The three self-proclaimed manbands, or for those who aren’t in the know vocal groups, will be gearing u on a tour this Summer. The three groups plan on bringing their vocal ranges to the United States for all of their fans new and old.
The tour kicks off on May 31 in Uncasville, CT. Joey McIntyre, once considered the baby of his group New Kids, now 40, tells PEOPLE about the tour: “It just seems like we are getting better and better. We’re excited to get out there, rock out and have fun.”
McIntyre went on to say about the upcoming tour: “There is a lot of nostalgia and we embrace that, but it always feels young and fresh. I guess that’s one of the great things about being in the music business is that you never have to quite grow up.”
This isn’t the first time New Kids On The Block have hit the road. Since their early 90 departure from the music industry, the group returned in 2010 at the American Music Awards, and in 2011 on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s show. Before buddying up with 98 degrees and Boyz II Men, New Kids teamed up with Backstreet Boys for a full year in 2011. In addition New Kids is also set to receive their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013 alongside Backstreet Boys.
