Selena Gomez Says Her Next Album Is All About Justin Bieber

The Wizards of Waverly Place star said she intended to use the failed relationship as inspiration for an upcoming collection of tunes. According to NDTV, Gomez wants to channel all of those extreme emotions into something positive.

She said in a recent interview with MTV News:

“I think for me it was actually interesting to see that towards the middle of me recording my record, a big turn happened to me and it was incredible to see how I applied that to music because I’ve never done that before and it’s great.

“I think the older I’m getting the more I’m just kind of like I’m cool to share my side of the stories as much as I can, so I’m having a lot of fun.”

Although the singer has remained fairly tight-lipped about her ex-boyfriend, she added that she wants her fans to know how the break-up with Justin Bieber has impacted her life.

Us Weekly reports that Selena Gomez offered up a few vague references to the relationship during a private concert on January 19 to benefit UNICEF. The singer chose Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” as the song that best described her feelings about the situation.

She said:

“I’ve been through a lot the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool. This song definitely speaks to me.”

In addition to her new album, Selena Gomez also has a controversial new film hitting theaters in the coming months. Director Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers finds the former Disney actress wearing next to nothing as she engages in all sorts of over-the-top behavior. James Franco, Ashley Benson, and Vanessa Hudgens co-star in the comedy.
