Woman Protected From Rapist/Arsonist By 14-Year-Old Boy With Hunting Knife
A woman was recently protected from a rapist/arsonist by a 14-year-old boy with a hunting knife.
According to NBC News, a young woman was kidnapped from the Central Michigan University’s campus by Eric Lee Ramsey. After kidnapping her, Ramsey took her to a home, bound her, and sexually assaulted her.
According to Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski, Ramsey then put the young woman into the back of a car and grabbed two gas cans and started to drive. After hearing Ramsey say that he “was going to take her life,” she jumped out of the car and ran inside of a nearby home.
Inside the the home, 14-year old James Persyn III was alone with his 11-year-old sister and 2-year-old brother. When he noticed the frightened woman, the 14-year-old boy let her inside the home and locked the door.
James then immediately ran and grabbed his hunting knife for protection.
Mioduszewski said that while the woman called 911 from inside the home, Ramsey started pouring gasoline on the house and then lit it on fire and fled the scene.
Before the fire caused too much damage, one of the homeowners arrived and was able to extinguish it.
The police were then given a description of Ramsey’s car and a search warrant for the house where the sexual assault took place.
Several hours later, a vehicle matching the description of Ramsey’s car rammed into a Michigan state trooper’s car. After hitting the trooper’s car, the suspect fled the scene, stole a sanitation truck, and then rammed into another state police trooper’s car.
A short time later, a Crawford County deputy was slammed into by the same sanitation truck. The deputy proceeded to get out of the car, run up to the truck, and fire shots into the cab.
Ramsey was fatally wounded by the shots fired.
