Mom Packs Seven Year Son Guns For Lunch

A New York mom packed her seven year old son one surprising lunch in his Batman backpack: Guns and ammo.

The exact contents of the boy’s backpack were as follows; A flare gun, a .22 caliber pistol, a loaded magazine and 14 bullets in a plastic bag. Not exactly a sandwich and juice.

According to CNN, Deborah Farley (53) told police she walking the streets of Queens late Wednesday night with the gun in the backpack. She claims she simply forgot to take them out.

After realizing her mistake she rushed back to the school and asked her son what happened to the guns. He explained he gave them to a classmate. Unable to avoid disaster, Ms. Farley came clean to school administrators. They responded by putting the school on lockdown and calling police.

It was discovered that the boy only gave the flare gun to a classmate. Police found the pistol and ammo in the backpack.

Luckily enough no one was hurt. Deborah Farley was arrested by police on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a firearm. According to police the pistol was unlicensed.

A second investigation at Ms Farley home uncovered more ammunition along with seven plastic bags of marijuana. Her son, whose name has not been disclosed, has been taken into custody by child protective services.

This incident can only fuel the fire of those who back stricter gun laws in the country.
