2014 Corvette Convertible Pics Leak? Chevy Says Images Are Not Authentic
Ready to see the 2014 Corvette Convertible?! Well, you’re going to have to wait a little bit.
The car pictured above is not the 2014 Corvette Convertible. The photo was posted online this week claiming to be a leaked image of Chevy’s new car. The company, however, issued a statement today denying that the photo was real.
Michael Albano, Chevy’s Director of Communications, told Jalopnik that it was “not” the photo of the new convertible.
Corvette spokesman Monte Doran didn’t specifically deny that the photo was fake but he did tell Popular Mechanics that the photo was not an “official” photo released by Chevrolet PR.
Doran said:
“What I can tell you is these are not official images released by Chevrolet PR. There’s a lot of speculation out there about what the convertible might look like, but you’ll just have to wait until we release our own images to see how close these might be.”
That response is open interpretation. Are these leaked images of the 2014 Corvette Convertible?
A common theory floating around is that the photos may be renders of a scale model created by Maisto. The photos were briefly posted on the company’s site so this may be a photo of a car a few inches big.
Or it may be the real thing.
What do you think? Is this a photo of the 2014 Corvette Convertible?
Another corvette image leaked earlier this week. A magazine shot of the 2014 Corvette C7 was leaked before the Detroit Auto Show.
