City is facing an uphill task to come back from a 0-3 deficit after they lost to the Reds last week. The team has recently been struggling with consistency as they dropped their last two games in all competitions, including a close 2-3 loss to cross-city rivals Manchester United in the Premier League last Saturday also at their home stadium.
Team captain Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan put head coach Pep Guardiola’s side up by two goals in the first half against United. Salah, the Premier League’s leading goalscorer this season, is recovering from a minor groin injury he suffered during the first leg with the Citizens. He trained with the squad on Monday and is expected to suit up for Klopp this Tuesday, per ESPN.
