Jodie Foster Will Tell Her Sons Who Their Father Is When They Turn 21
Jodie Foster will be revealing the identity of her sons’ father when the boys turn 21, according to Reverend Beverly Bates.
Bates said her late son, Randy Stone, told her Foster planned to hold off telling the boys who their father is until they are older, but it is believed that Stone is their father.
“He said he could never tell me because Jodie was his best friend,” Bates told MailOnline. “He said, ‘Mom, I can’t discuss this with you.’ He told me he had had to sign documents, it was a secret he took to his grave, that was how much he loved Jodie.”
Bates said her son acted as a father figure to Foster’s two sons, 14-year-old Charles and 12-year-old Kit, and that they knew him as “Uncle Randy.”
“I personally think he gave Jodie the gift, but she will never tell me,” Bates said.
Bates also said that Foster has kept the identity of her sons’ father secret because of the 1981 assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan by crazed fan John Hinckley, Jr. Hinckley became obsessed with Foster after watching Taxi Driver, in which she plays a preteen prostitute, and began stalking her. He sent love letter to her mailbox at Yale, where she was a freshman at the time. He attempted to kill Reagan to impress her, and managed to wound him and three others.
“She’s not paranoid, but she is very very careful,” Bates said, “and who can blame her, some nuthead could try and get the boys.”
During Sunday’s Golden Globes, Foster revealed that she was single and that she “already did [her] coming out in the stone age.” She also said, “If you had been a public figure from the time that you were a toddler … then maybe you too might value privacy above all else.”
Do you think Jodie Foster’s decision to keep the identity of her sons’ father a secret is a good one?
