Lindsay Lohan Was Popping Pills And Drinking While Filming ‘The Canyon’

Lindsay Lohan’s antics made gossip headlines time and time again in 2012, and seem to show no sign of stopping now.

Her stint with “The Canyons” this summer was such a catastrophe that even the New York Times was delving further into the life of the train wreck “Freaky Friday” star.

An 11-page article named “Here’s What Happens When You Cast Lindsay Lohan in Your Movie,” looks at Lohan’s days filming the Bret Eaton Ellis flick, claiming she did a lot of drinking and driving, pill popping, and making problems with her unpredictable attendance, according to the New York Times.

Rodrick, a guest invited by director Paul Schrader on the movie’s set, had some observations about the child star:

“[The producer] noticed that she and [her assistant] Gavin had been drinking…Quietly, [Braxton] Pope told Lohan that he could get her a driver to take her home. But she refused… They all hoped they would still have a lead actress in the morning.”

Lohan had been fired from the film for not showing up, and she cried and begged for her role back:

“missed the meeting at Prettybird because she had been discussing the script with Nolan Funk until 3 am and then took a sleeping pill.”

Probably the scariest part is that Lohan doesn’t appear to take any of her problems seriously, says FOX News. Lohan made whimsical jokes about her regular criminal record, and even reportedly owns coasters that read:

“I used to worry, but now I have a pill for that.”

When Lohan was given the thumbs up for her amazing performance in the film where she had to appear to be abused by porn star James Deen’s character, she quickly pointed out that she’d been there and done that. And she has, as her mother Dina recently admitted.

“The Canyons” is scheduled for a 2013 release.
