Jon Gosselin Tax Lien: Former TLC Reality Star Owes IRS $39K [Report]
Former TLC reality star Jon Gosselin has reportedly been hit by a tax lien from the Internal Revenue Service.
According to a report by TMZ, the 35-year-old father of eight is alleged to have shorted Uncle Sam for monies made during 2009, the same year he and wife Kate Gosselin decided to end their relationship.
Per the tax documents (which can viewed be at the following link) the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star owes more than $39,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.
TMZ notes that Jon has not commented on reports of tax troubles and that multiple attempts to reach the star were unsuccessful.
Digital Spy points out that Jon has largely shunned the spotlight since an intense period of press coverage in 2009 where he had a relationship with former Star reporter Kate Major.
He has since been linked to Ellen Ross and most recently Liz Jannetta, a 27-year-old mother of three.
In August of 2012, Jon revealed to Star Magazine that his financial situation was so bad that he was worried about being thrown in prison for missing child support payments.
“I can’t afford to pay my rent and the domestic-relations staff tell me they will put me in jail unless I pay child support,” Gosselin explained to the magazine at the time. “I am a single father who’s trying to make ends meet during a recession. What do I do – pay child support or rent? I need to support my kids, but I could lose my house, and I need my home to continue to have custody.”
