Micah Sierra Williams, also known as Katt Williams was arrested in Los Angeles for failure to appear in a court hearing according to TMZ. The rapper/actor/comedian was supposed to appear for an arraignment in Sacramento yesterday.
A Sacramento Judge issued a bench warrant for Williams’ arrest yesterday at the arraignment hearing where Katt was facing charges of reckless driving and evading a police officer , both felonies under California Law. Katt was arrested back in November when he had used his three-wheeler to take police on a wild chase through Sacramento.
TMZ is reporting that the Los Angeles Police Department was aware of Katt’s bench warrant and when police spotted him outside his home they placed him under arrest. Law enforcement sources are saying that Katt fully cooperated with police.
He is being held on $100,500 bail.
Katt Williams has a long history of run ins with the law.
On November 13, 2006, Williams was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after a stolen gun was found in his briefcase. He was given three years probation and a fine for the crime. In November 2010, Williams was arrested for stealing more than $3,000 dollars worth of jewelry and charged with burglary and theft. On June 11, 2011, Katt was charged with assault witha deadly weapon for a fight he got in. He has also been charged with multiple counts of child engagement.
Katt Williams was also sued in connection with multiple shows he booked and sold tickets to and never showed up for. A California Judge had allowed him to be sued under Class Action status for the ticket money he was paid for shows he never showed up to.
