Justin Bieber Smoking Weed Good For His Art, Tommy Chong Says
With Justin Bieber smoking weed now, the young pop star will be able to maximize his talent, said one of the century’s most notorious pot smokers.
Tommy Chong, half of the famous Cheech & Chong duo, was asked by TMZ about what he thought of Justin Bieber smoking weed. Not surprisingly, Chong was all in favor.
“I knew [Bieber] was smoking before he knew it. Because of his music. Because of his dancing. The guy is a phenom … It’s not just his looks. It’s his talent. And you don’t get talent like that by drinking alcohol. The herb, man! The herb!”
Not all reactions to Justin Bieber smoking weed have been so positive. A Twitter trend emerged Monday, started by the prankster site 4Chan, that encouraged fans to cut themselves to get Bieber to stop smoking pot.
“Let’s start a cut yourself for Bieber campaign,” an anonymous user wrote on a 4Chan message board, according to Billboard. “Tweet a bunch of pics of people cutting themselves and claim we did it because Bieber was smoking weed. See if we can get some little girls to cut themselves.”
Unfortunately, the joke turned real when some users actually did cut themselves, Fox News reported. This follows another prank-turned-real, when anonymous posters got fans to shave their heads, thinking Bieber had been diagnosed with cancer.
“#CutForBieber is not something cool,” one Twitter user wrote in response. “Some people actually are going through self-harm and can’t stop. Have some respect for those people.”
The incident reportedly disgusted Bieber, who has still not spoken publicly about it though he has tweeted his thanks to fan for their support and apologizing if he let them down. At least Tommy Chong is cool with Justin Bieber smoking weed.
