Lindsay Lohan Is A Mess Because She Witnessed Domestic Abuse

Lindsay Lohan never stops making headlines, and according to her mother Dina, it isn’t her fault. She saw her father Michael abuse her mother regularly as a child.

Dina Lohan opened up to The New York Daily News as the mother of four came forward with harsh allegations against her ex-husband, saying their relationship was plagued with cheating, domestic abuse and even rape. During their 22-year on and off marriage, she never filed charges against Michael for domestic abuse but says Lindsay saw the beatings as a youth.

Michael quickly denied everything but Dina insists they are true, and she said she has documentation to prove it.

Dina Lohan added:

“She saw a lot of crazy stuff. I want the world to know the root of her problems. Michael beat the h*** out of me. When Lindsay saw the photo, she was furious [and said] ‘Tell the world! Talk about it!'”

Dina referenced a specific incident in 1986, when in a picture of her with baby Lindsay she was sporting a black eye. Dina claims she got the bruise returning home from dinner with her volatile husband. Lindsay’s father claims Dina struck first when he got home from a boys night out. She added that her ex-husband’s drug addiction fueled much of the abuse:

“Michael was addicted to cocaine, like most stockbrokers back then. He had a lot of bad stuff going on.”

She added that she stayed for their children:

“Lindsay saw all the beatings and all the abuse. She said, ‘Stay, mommy, don’t leave.'”

Lindsay recently apologized for that, but Dina didn’t stay for just Lindsay. She wanted all four kids to be happy, says FOX News.

Dina said they dined at an upscale restaurant in Cold Spring Harbor, and Michael’s drinking and coke-snorting became worse:

“When we left he was drunk-driving and suddenly he started screaming, ‘Get the f*** out of the car!'”

That’s when Dina says her ex-husband punched her in the face, bruising her cheek below the right eye. Dina called her parents, who brought her to the hospital. Medical records show that Dina was treated for “blunt trauma” to the face on December 4, 1986.

Michael recalls it differently:

“I came in at 2 o’clock in the morning after being out with some friends. I walked in and she hit me with an ice tray. With the back of my hand I slapped her in the face. Yes, it did happen in 1986. Were there any charges? No, not at all. I had a big black and blue on my neck from her.”

So now we know a little more about why Lindsay Lohan gets herself in trouble so much.
