One of the hottest names on the NFL head coach market may not be there for long. It is expected that former Eagles coach Andy Reid will sign with the Arizona Cardinals by this Friday.
After missing the playoffs for the last two seasons, Philadelphia fired Andy Reid almost immediately after the Eagles loss on Sunday.
Now the man who coached the same team for 14 seasons, including 4 straight division championship games and 1 super bowl appearance, won’t stay unemployed for long.
According to ESPN , league sources claim that Reid to the Cardinals has a ninety-five percent certainty of happening and that he has spent the last week assembling his next coaching staff.
However, Arizona will interview current defensive coordinator Ray Horton for the job. If sources are correct, though, Reid is being fast-tracked by Arizona and interviewing Horton is only being done to satisfy the NFL’s affirmative action policy.
After fourteen seasons as a head coach, Andy Reid isn’t looking to take any time off and there are multiple reasons Arizona is an attractive landing spot. Most of all, his wife Tammy is a Phoenix native, and the move would put her closer to her family.
Second, Reid’s former quarterback Kevin Kolb is under contract in Arizona, and it would give the coach a good opportunity to revive his former pupil’s career.
What do you think: Would Arizona would a good landing place for Andy Reid to coach again?
