Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He Doesn’t Regret ‘Batman & Robin’

Actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said in a recent interview that he doesn’t regret his decision to co-star in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin.

Although the Batman sequel starring George Clooney is considered by many to be the worst entry in the entire franchise, the Terminator star said he stands by his decision to participate in the feature.

Schwarenegger recently told Empire magazine:

“I don’t regret it at all. I felt that the character was interesting and two movies before that one Joel Schumacher was at his height. So the decision-making process was not off. At the same time I was doing Eraser over there and Warner Bros. begged me to do the movie. In most cases I don’t regret the movies that failed or were not as good. It’s always easy to be smug in hindsight, right?”

Digital Spy reports that, while Arnold Schwarzenegger was reportedly in consideration for the role of Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2, the actor hasn’t appeared in another comic book movie sense.

Schwarzenegger also revealed during the Empire interview that he still hadn’t seen a script for the next installment of the Terminator franchise. The actor said there was currently “nothing on the drawing board” in regards to the project.

Next up for the 80s action hero is the upcoming thriller The Last Stand with Forest Whitaker, Peter Stormare, and Johnny Knoxville. The movie marks the Hollywood debut of South Korean director Jee-woon Kim, who helmed such memorable thrillers as I Saw the Devil, The Good, the Bad, the Weird, and A Tale of Two Sisters. The film opens on January 18, 2013.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will also star alongside fellow action star Sylvester Stallone in The Tomb. The film, which also stars Jim Caviezel, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Vinnie Jones, is slated to arrive on September 27, 2013.
