Bethenny Frankel Divorce: ‘Skinnygirl’ Wants Katie Holmes Attorney [Report]
Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel, who officially called it quits with husband Jason Hoppy on December 23, is apparently in the market for a high-powered divorce attorney. So she supposedly turned to none other than Katie Holmes, ex-wife of Tom Cruise, for advice.
According to the Page Six section of the New York Post, Frankel’s factfinding mission occurred at Andy Cohen’s apartment during the Bravo Network honcho’s holiday party:
“One source exclusively tells us, ‘Bethenny seemed a bit drunk and made a beeline for Katie Holmes and abruptly asked her, ‘I need a good divorce lawyer, can I have yours?’
“The spy continued: ‘Katie looked very taken aback, but was polite. She smiled and told Bethenny the name of her lawyer.’ “
This conversation also allegedly took place before Frankel announced the separation from Hoppy. A friend of Frankel insists, however, that Frankel had already hired a lawyer before Andy Cohen’s party took place.
In addition to her reality shows, books, and the Skinnygirl line of margaritas, Frankel is launching a syndicated talk show that is scheduled to air in 2013.
Frankel and Hoppy supposedly signed a prenuptial agreement, according to RadarOnline, that settles up the financial arrangements in her favor, so the legalities of the Bethenny Frankel divorce may be more cut and dried than a typical messy celebrity divorce.
With regard to the alleged Christmas party conversation between Bethenny Frankel and Katie Holmes, the Celeb Dirty Laundry website comments:
“On the one hand you’ve got to think this is totally rude, but then on the other, who else would you want to get divorce advice from? … She might be crass and obnoxious but you’ve got to hand it to Bethenny Frankel asking for divorce advice. Katie Holmes has this untouchable, magical feel to her. She’s the one who practically took down Scientology yet Bethenny accosted her for very human and relatable information.”
Do you think the Bethenny Ever After star’s divorce from Jason Hoppy will go smoothly with or without Katie Holmes’ lawyer?
