NeNe Leakes Reveals She And Phaedra Parks Spoke About ‘Personal Things’ Recently

When NeNe Leakes appeared on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live after the premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 on Sunday night, she revealed something that many viewers of Real Housewives might find shocking. During the talk show, NeNe, who returned to Real Housewives as a starring housewife after taking a step back from it for several seasons, revealed that she recently had some contact with Phaedra Parks, who departed the show after it was revealed on last season’s reunion that she lied about Kandi Burruss attempting to drug and rape Porsha Williams. Surprisingly, NeNe said that she didn’t talk to Phaedra about what happened with Kandi and Porsha but rather indicated that she and Phaedra had a cordial phone call in which they spoke to one another as personal friends.

During Watch What Happens Live, a viewer tweeted the show to ask NeNe if she has spoken to Phaedra. NeNe, with a smile on her face, said that she has.

“I have spoken to Phaedra. Yeah, briefly. It’s been months ago though, a few months ago, but I did speak to her very briefly.”

Surprised, Andy asked NeNe if there was any substance to the conversation. NeNe revealed that she and Phaedra talked about “some personal things.”

“Uh, yeah! We weren’t, you know we were just talking about some [pause] personal things.”

When Andy asked NeNe if she and Phaedra talked about what happened on the show last season, NeNe said they didn’t. She didn’t, however, elaborate on the “personal things” that she and Phaedra discussed.

“No we did not. No.”

In a previous season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks got close to one another. They became such good friends that Phaedra said NeNe was a better friend to her than Kandi Burruss was as she dealt with her ex-husband Apollo Nida’s incarceration and their divorce. Kandi, who was once best friends with Phaedra, was disappointed that Phaedra publicly voiced her displeasure with their friendship without going to her first. That issue led to more issues developing between Kandi and Phaedra until it came to the point in Season 8 when they weren’t even friends anymore.

Not only were Kandi and Phaedra not friends anymore by the time Season 9 rolled around, but they were also enemies. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kandi criticized Phaedra for helping a former employee sue her. Phaedra also made several scandalous claims about Kandi, including that she had threesomes with her husband, Todd Tucker, and Porsha Williams’ friend Shamea Morton. It was then revealed that it was Phaedra who told Porsha that Kandi told others that she and Todd once tried to drug and rape her. On the Season 9 reunion show, when it was revealed that it was Phaedra who spread that lie about Kandi, both Kandi and Porsha exploded at Phaedra in anger and hurt. Months after the reunion show aired, Andy Cohen admitted that Phaedra was fired from the show because the rest of the cast wouldn’t have anything to do with her.

In May, when NeNe appeared on Watch What Happens Live, she blasted Phaedra for what she did.

“I’m not surprised. Phaedra been doing this bullsh** for a very long time. Phaedra did this exact same thing to me, as we’ve already discussed before. Years ago, on the show when she first came on, she brought on my half-biological sister on the show and filmed with her the same way she did with Kandi when she brought that Johnnie [Winston] guy on. She did the same thing to me, tried to take me down, and it didn’t work because we ended up getting it before it even hit the air. So Phaedra’s been doing stuff like this. She just got caught with these girls.”

Yet, it now seems that NeNe Leakes, from her behavior and words when asked about Phaedra Parks on Sunday night, has softened her stance regarding Phaedra. If Phaedra and NeNe are now at least cordial with one another, perhaps viewers will one day see the return of Phaedra to The Real Housewives of Atlanta via a scene with NeNe.
