WWE Rumors: The Undertaker’s Return To Extend To ‘WrestleMania 34’

When WWE legend The Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, we thought that the Deadman’s illustrious WWE wrestling career was over. Admittedly, The Undertaker has never actually said that he is officially retired, but with injury woes and age taking its toll, we all assumed that WrestleMania 33 was the last we would see of the Phenom. Rumors of The Undertaker’s resurrection began to circulate after he was seen backstage at a couple of WWE PPV events. Finally, as reported by the Inquisitr last week, the WWE announced that The Undertaker would be returning to Monday Night Raw in January.

The Deadman will join a host of WWE stars for the 25th-anniversary edition of Monday Night Raw, from the Manhattan Center in New York City, on January 22, 2018. At present, there is no indication as to what The Undertaker’s role will be on that special edition of Monday Night Raw. It is, however, likely to be a promotional role rather than a wrestling match.

That said, The Undertaker did take to Twitter over the weekend to say that “the Deadman walks again.” Interestingly, Cageside Seats are speculating that The Undertaker’s return isn’t just for the 25th-anniversary edition of Monday Night Raw. They suggest that The Taker’s return will extend right through to WrestleMania 34.

Fansided picked up the story, indicating that a return to the ring for The Undertaker would not be a surprise. To be fair, there have been many occasions where The Undertaker has been written off and has come back. One possibility is an appearance from The Deadman at the 2018 Royal Rumble. During this year’s Royal Rumble, The Undertaker entered late in the match and was only active for a few minutes. Such an appearance, in 2018, would suit him, and it would be a huge treat for the WWE universe. Remember, the 2018 Royal Rumble is less than a week after the 25th-anniversary of Monday Night Raw.

If The Undertaker does have another appearance at WrestleMania planned, then surely he must face John Cena. The two legends have met five times in the past and stand tied on two wins each. The fifth match was a “no result.” Let’s be honest, The Undertaker and Roman Reigns put on a good match at WrestleMania 33, but a final appearance at WrestleMania 34 would truly be a fitting way for The Undertaker’s career to end.
