‘Outlander’ Season 3, Episode 9: Claire & Jamie’s Search For Young Ian Might Tear Them Apart Again [Spoilers]
The third season of Outlander continues to speed things up, as evidenced in the eighth episode. In “First Wife,” Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser traveled back to Lallybroch and were immediately reunited with Jamie’s second wife Laoghaire. Needless to say, the episode was filled with conflict, action, and a shocking conclusion. Will Claire and Jamie find the kidnapped Young Ian in Outlander Season 3, Episode 9?
The return to Lallybroch was certainly not pleasant, as Jenny’s welcome was rather cold and Claire found out that Jamie had actually taken Laoghaire as his second wife. However, the drama took a different turn when Laoghaire decided to shoot Jamie just as he was stopping Claire from leaving. Needless to say, a divorce was in order and Laoghaire agreed to leave Jamie for a price, making Mr. Fraser decide to take more jewels from his treasure chest. Just when “First Wife” appeared to be coming to a peaceful conclusion, Claire and Jamie witness Young Ian being kidnapped by a mysterious ship. Will they manage to save their nephew in Outlander Season 3, Episode 9?
There is little doubt that Claire and Jamie will be the ones who will look for Young Ian by following the unknown ship to the West Indies. The synopsis for Outlander Season 3, Episode 9 is not very hopeful, especially because the couple will need to face a “superstitious crew” that is looking for “someone to blame following a string of bad luck.” Luckily, they will be getting help in “The Doldrums.”
But who exactly will help Claire and Jamie find Young Ian in Outlander Season 3, Episode 9? In the book Voyager, their ship actually encounters an English vessel named Porpoise, which is in dire need of a surgeon. Claire decides to help but Porpoise sails away with her still on board. Although she makes another shocking discovery while she is aboard the ship, it certainly looks like Claire and Jamie will be separated once again in “The Doldrums.”
Can Claire and Jamie find Young Ian before it’s too late? Will the couple truly be torn apart again after their brief reunion? Outlander Season 3, Episode 9 is titled “The Doldrums” and will air on Starz on November 12.
