‘Shameless’ Season 8 Premieres Tonight On Showtime

The moment Gallagher fans have been waiting for is finally here – Shameless Season 8 premieres tonight only on Showtime. As Hidden Remote reminds us, Season 8, Episode 1 is scheduled to premiere today (Sunday, November 5) at 9 p.m. EST. The episode is titled, “We Become What We… Frank!”

At the end of Season 7, the Gallaghers were left saying their final goodbyes to their mother Monica. At least, as respectful as they could be for a mother most of them did not care for. In an attempt to right all of the wrongs she had done for her children over the years Monica – in true Monica form – left her children $70,000 worth of meth as her own unique form of an apology. Just when we all thought the Gallagher siblings were turning over a new leaf, it seems that Monica’s last hoorah before leaving was to push them back onto the path of the typical Gallagher family business.

In Season 8, the $70,000 worth of meth left by their mother pushes all of the Gallagher children back together as they run from the law and deal drugs. Carl who had put space between himself and his family (as well as the life of crime and running from the law) to go to military school seems to pick back up where he left off selling the meth their mother left behind to bring in money for the family (sound familiar?) Deb appears to be enjoying her life and Lip is still struggling with staying sober.

Then, we take a turn to Fiona who still appears to have put an end to her constant flow of random men to become more of a business woman. After buying an apartment building at the end of Season 8, Fiona deals with the struggles of being a landlord.

Last, but certainly not least, is none other than Papa Gallagher. After doing entirely too much of the meth his wife left behind for the children the Shameless Season 8 rumor is that Frank is finally going to turn over a new left. He’s rumored to become a better person and a better father. Considering this is a popular fan theory every season, we will have to wait and see.

Showtime has teased Shameless fans with a few sneak peeks of Season 8 including an exclusive look at one of Emmy Rossum’s favorite scenes. The scene features a demonstration of how much the Gallagher clan still needs their oldest sister Fiona to guide them in making better decisions.

In the first official Season 8 trailer of Shameless, fans also got a look at how the entire Gallagher clan appears to come together to deal with the issues that come alongside dealing $70,000 worth of meth.
