Julianna Margulies Recounts Alleged Hotel Room Incident With Steven Seagal, ‘I Saw His Gun’
Julianna Margulies has decided to open up about a “horrifying” encounter with actor Steven Seagal amid the ongoing conversation about sexual assault and harassment in Hollywood. The actress claims she had a frightening experience with Seagal during the time she and Seagal co-starred in the 1991 film, Out for Justice.
On Friday, Margulies told Jenny Hutt of SiriusXM’s show, “Just Jenny,” that when she was 23-years-old, a female casting director approached her and said, “Steven Seagal wants to go over the scene with you in his hotel room at 10 o’clock at night, ” according to People magazine.
“I lived in Brooklyn, and I said, ‘Oh, I don’t do that. I don’t travel. I don’t have money for a cab.’ And I didn’t. And I said, ‘And I don’t take subways late at night.’ And she says, ‘Don’t worry we’ll reimburse you. And I’m here, a woman.'”
The E.R. alum said that when she got to the hotel at around 10:40 p.m., the casting director was not there, but Steven Seagal was present.
“Alone. And he made sure that I saw his gun, which I had never seen a gun in real life. And I got out of there unscathed.”
In late October, Seagal joined the list of major Hollywood figures who were accused of sexual misconduct in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal. A representative for Steven Seagal did not respond to a request for comment from People magazine.
Nearly a decade after Jenny McCarthy recalled an alleged incident in which Steven Seagal asked her to strip naked for the movie Under Siege 2, Lisa Guerrero, an Inside Edition correspondent, made accusations against Seagal. The event occurred in 1998 at during a “private audition.”
A spokesman for Seagal previously denied Jenny McCarthy’s claims.
Julianna Margulies also opened up about an alleged incident which involved Harvey Weinstein. Margulies said her experience with Steven Seagal was so horrific that she “refused to meet Harvey Weinstein in his hotel room” when the casting agent attempted to accompany her. Juliana said the woman claimed, “you will absolutely get [a screen test].”
The woman said that she would drop Julianna off at the Peninsula hotel. Margulies recalled that she said, “I’m not going up there alone.” Julianna noticed that the woman began to sweat and told Juliana, “don’t be silly, I’m just going to drop you off. It’s going to be fine.” To which Julianna responded, “Nope, then I’m going home.”
Margulies went on to discuss her story about Harvey Weinstein and added that she was never raped or harmed in any way, according to Fox News.
“I have my own Harvey story, but I never was raped. And I never was harmed. And I don’t know how I got out of that hotel room.”
Julianna said she met the Hollywood mogul, he opened the door, in a bathrobe. The hotel room was illuminated with candles and there was a dinner ready for two people.
“And I saw him stare at her [assistant], daggers. And he looked at me, furious. And he slammed the door. And, of course, I didn’t get the part.”

The actress said during her SiriusXM interview that Harvey would often offer a massage.
“It always starts with, ‘I’m a healer, I want to massage you’ and all. I sorta screamed my way out…But, the point is that for years, years, we all just shrug it off.”
More than 50 women have spoken out about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct. There have been multiple allegations of assault to come out in the last few weeks. Weinstein has denied any allegations of nonconsensual sex.
However, Margulies added that the discussion of sexual harassment in Hollywood should also include the women who have become enablers of predatory men and said, “it’s not always the men that are awful.”

Margulies stated that she would have gone inside if it weren’t for the fact that her career had already been established at the time of the Harvey Weinstein incident, according to Variety.
Margulies appeared on Just Jenny along with Erin Merryn, a childhood sexual abuse survivor, who is fighting for states to pass Erin’s Law, which mandates schools teach sexual abuse awareness and prevention. Julianna has been a longtime advocate for the law and said that the issue of sexual abuse “is not to be shrugged off… We have to start with our children.”
