Jon Gosselin Reportedly ‘Broke Down’ After Kate Gosselin Left Son Collin Out Of Halloween Celebrations

Kate Gosselin’s former husband Jon Gosselin allegedly “broke down and cried” after seeing that the Kate Plus 8 star left their son Collin out of the family’s recent Halloween celebrations. According to reports, Jon “feels so helpless” when it comes to co-parenting his eight kids with his ex-wife.

Kate caused quite a stir online this week after sharing a photo of five of her sextuplets celebrating Halloween together in matching outfits, as many social media users slammed the star for the absence of her son Collin after she previously explained that her son is away and receiving treatment for unspecified “behavioral issues.”

Now, sources are claiming that the kids’ father Jon was allegedly left feeling pretty “devastated” after seeing that Collin didn’t celebrate Halloween with his siblings this year.

“When he saw that Kate left Collin out of Halloween, that his son was missing yet another family celebration, Jon broke down and cried,” a source alleged to Hollywood Life of how Jon reacted to seeing his son being absent for another holiday.

“He hates that she’s doing this to Collin and feels so helpless to stop her,” continued the site’s insider of the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, who divorced Kate after a decade of marriage in 2009.

“The way Kate is handling things with Collin breaks Jon’s heart but he has no say,” continued the insider this week. “She controls everything, it’s her way or the highway when it comes to the kids, including Collin.”

As reported by Us Weekly, fans called out Kate after she posted a sweet photo of her kids Leah, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, and Joel Gosselin all dressed up and trick-or-treating around their neighborhood on Instagram October 31.

She didn’t address Collin’s absence in the snap’s caption, but wrote alongside the photo, “I had a trick-or-treating date with a couple of cute pink Dinosaurs and a few adorable Astronauts!”

Her son’s obvious absence, plus the fact that Kate didn’t acknowledge that he wasn’t celebrating Halloween with his siblings, had fans slamming the reality star and mom of eight in the comments section of the photo on Instagram.

Gosselin initially caused a firestorm over the absence of her son earlier this year as new episodes of Kate Plus 8 aired on TLC in July.

Collin was missing for much of the most recent season of the series, including the episode which saw the sextuplets celebrate their 13th birthday. He did however make a brief appearance in one episode.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Kate teared-up as she addressed celebrating the big milestone without one of her three sons, but clarified that he was away to get the help that he needs.

She said during the big birthday episode of the reality show that her son was living from the family right now but was receiving treatment for “special needs.” The reality star didn’t explicitly clarify what her son’s exact needs were.

“I am comforted with the fact that my kids, all of them, each unique child, is receiving exactly what they need and that hasn’t changed,” Kate said on the show.

“It’s a bittersweet moment [and] we’ve had many of them,” Gosselin then added during the July episode of the TLC series as the youngest children celebrated becoming teenagers. “You can’t do anything without realizing he’s missing, so we may not say it, but it’s always there.”

Despite Kate’s explanation of her son’s absence on the show, fans slammed the mom of eight across social media and even started “Justice for Collin” pages in support of the teenager.
