‘NCIS’ Season 15: Will David McCallum Leave Along With Pauley Perrette? Mark Harmon Might ‘Retire’ From Acting
Many fans were shocked after Pauley Perrette confirmed that she is departing the show at the end of NCIS Season 15. However, devoted followers of the series are wondering if the 48-year-old American actress will be the only one to exit the popular CBS television show. Reports suggest that David McCallum might follow Pauley’s fate.
Closer Weekly shares that viewers are speculating that Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum) may be the next character to leave NCIS Season 15. Rumors about the possible departure of the 84-year-old Scottish star from the show sparked after he opted to pursue a career as a university lecturer in the earlier episodes of the series’ fifteenth installment. The former Sapphire and Steel star has been playing the role of Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, who is also a close friend of MCRT team leader Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), since the start of the show in 2003.
The news outlet reports that McCallum had been absent from NCIS Season 15 after he was offered a full-time lecturer job at his former university in the third episode. Fortunately, Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard had reappeared in the show’s seventh episode, and that made fans conclude that he was not leaving the show anytime soon. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that CBS has not yet announced that David McCallum will be leaving the show along with Pauley Perrette.
In fact, IMDB also claims that avid followers of the show could be seeing more of McCallum in the upcoming NCIS Season 15 episodes. While the speculation could be true, it is important to note that neither CBS nor David McCallum has confirmed anything as of yet. Therefore, fans of the show should take these reports lightly until everything is proven true and correct.

Meanwhile, Radar Online previously reported that Mark Harmon’s alleged failing health could possibly force him to retire from acting. An unidentified source revealed to the publication that the 66-year-old American television and film actor had vowed to make NCIS Season 15 as his last. The same source also claimed that Mark had already informed his wife, Pam Dawber, about his decision to leave the show after 16 years.
“He seems to have a lot less energy. When he isn’t working, he spends much of the time holed up inside his house,” the insider continued. “It’s very unusual for him. He’s always been so active and athletic.”
Mark Harmon has yet to comment on these claims. Catch NCIS Season 15 every Tuesday on CBS at 8 pm. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates!
