Arnold Schwarzenegger And Maria Shriver: No Divorce Despite ‘Love Child,’ 6-Year Separation — Here’s Why
After news emerged of a love child, and despite having separated from his wife of 25 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not ready to say “I’ll be back” yet in his marriage to Maria Shriver — because apparently, he hasn’t officially made moves to end it yet, according to a new report.
It’s been six years since Arnold and Maria physically separated and a divorce filing soon followed. However, the Terminator actor is still legally married to the American activist and journalist, according to the gossip site, TMZ.
Harvey Levin, the brand’s face, also hosts Objectified, a program that probes celebrities about objects, in a show-and-tell format, that they have hoarded or clung to for years. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently sat down with Levin on the Sunday night talk show. Tyler Perry, Judge Judy, and Simon Cowell, among others, appeared in previous episodes.
Levin pressed Schwarzenegger, 70, on his pending divorce to Shriver, 61. In the summer of 2011, news broke that Arnold had an affair with their longtime housekeeper and was secretly fathering a child. Maria Shriver filed for divorce after facing months of tabloid chatter about her failed marriage.
After a year passed, Maria and Arnold were still officially married under California law. Attempts to successfully probe them over the delay to finalize their divorce failed. As TMZ pointed out, the usual skirmishes divorcing couples face are custodial issues with children.
At the time of their split, Schwarzenegger and Shriver had two minor children. Custody issues are no longer points of contention in divorce court proceedings; they are both adults today — Patrick is 24 and his brother Christopher is 20.

Speculation continues to brew over the six-year separation and money is leading the charge. Reportedly, Arnold and Maria have $400 million of assets between the two of them and there is no prenuptial agreement on the record. Sources say lawyers are behind the scenes trying to hash out the division of property, but it’s complicated.
