WWE Officials Have Contacted Bill Goldberg For Huge WWE Return
Last October, Bill Goldberg made a triumphant return to WWE after 12 long years in exile. Most people were expecting him to have one big match against Brock Lesnar to serve as his official retirement match. As a result, much of the WWE Universe was shocked when Goldberg defeated Lesnar in less than two minutes at WWE Survivor Series. That victory catapulted him into a WWE Universal Title reign and more matches until Goldberg’s run finally ended after he dropped the championship to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.
Bill Goldberg has not wrestled a match since, but there’s been some speculation about the door being open to him to have more matches for WWE in the future. The former WWE Universal Champion hasn’t been on WWE television for the past seven months, but it has been reported that WWE officials have contacted Bill Goldberg for an upcoming appearance on Monday Night Raw’s 25th-anniversary show this January.
He’s become the latest name on the list of WWE legends who are confirmed or rumored for an appearance on the show. Thus far, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash are confirmed. Meanwhile, Mick Foley, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, and Goldberg are being rumored for appearances. For the latter, WWE officials also discussed something else for him at WrestleMania 34 that has been rumored for several months now.
Goldberg was rumored to be receiving a WWE Hall of Fame induction last year in Orlando, but the decision was made for Kurt Angle to take his place and for Goldberg to end his comeback at WrestleMania 33. Now, it’s being said that WWE officials have also discussed the possibility with Goldberg for him to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 34 weekend in New Orleans. Other big names have been rumored for the ceremony, but Goldberg appears to be one of the names locked in for the honor next year.
Heading into the 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw, it’s unclear what WWE officials have planned at the show for Goldberg. As of this writing, all indications are showing that his appearance won’t be anything more than a one-off. There is still a chance for him to have more matches in the future, but a WWE Hall of Fame induction is usually the swan song for many performers. You can never say never, especially after the comeback Goldberg just had. However, the most we know right now is Goldberg will be back on television.
