’90 Day Fiance’ Season 5, Ep 4 Recap: Nicole Gets Body-Shamed By Azan, David Spends His Last Penny On Annie

Last night on 90 Day Fiance Season 5, the couples’ journey towards love and happiness in America is getting crazier by the day. Before their K-1 visa expires, they need to overcome the challenges in their unconventional relationships. For Nicole and Azan, it’s Nicole’s weight gain. For Molly and Luis, it’s Molly’s eldest daughter Olivia. David, who’s in Thailand with Annie, has to either win the lottery or find bars of gold before he can marry the love of his life. Nicole & Azan

Azan is still trying to figure out the whole parenting thing with May, Nicole’s 2-year-old daughter who is in Morocco with them. While having dinner, Azan criticizes Nicole for feeding the toddler junk food. He pointed out that they should start training May to eat vegetables and other healthy stuff.

Their conversation leads to Nicole’s own weight. She’s been called fat by Azan before, and now she feels like the issue is being brought up again. This makes her feel uncomfortable, but Azan is disappointed that Nicole stopped working out and didn’t make any significant lifestyle changes.

Evelyn & David

Evelyn drives David around Claremont to show him the city. David feels like this isn’t where he wants to live for the rest of his life. Despite his hesitations, the couple dives right into wedding planning.

Things get heated when their conversation turns to David’s groomsmen. Evelyn wants them to wear tuxedos, but David’s friends don’t want to spend for it. David takes his friends’ side and calls Evelyn’s idea “ridiculous.”

“I think it’s ridiculous. They’re paying, some of them, over $1,000 just to be at our wedding. And still, you’re like, ‘Oh, they have to rent their own tuxedos.’ That’s not right.”

Still, Evelyn insists on what she wants and goes into bridezilla mode. The 18-year-old bride-to-be tells David that this is the wedding she’s been planning all her life. The two experience their first real argument.

Molly & Luis

Luis can’t believe his eyes when he sees Molly’s house. He comments on how there’s electricity all the time and is impressed that Molly has three bathrooms. This is certainly a far cry from his life in the Dominican Republic.

However, Luis’ bubble breaks when he realizes that Olivia, Molly’s teenaged daughter, dislikes him. Olivia doesn’t hide her feelings, either. She skips breakfast and refuses to interact with her future stepfather, which makes their living situation awfully awkward.

David & Annie

In Thailand, David realizes just how much of a financial runt he’s in. Annie’s family is expecting a large dowry from him–around $15,000. David can only shell out $1,500. Annie agrees to his offer but insists that he should get her family two water buffalo. In their culture, water buffalos are even more important than gold and is an important status symbol.

One water buffalo costs about $2,500. David manages to haggle and gets a pair for $1,500 each. Unfortunately, he uses up the last of his savings and is now completely broke.
