‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Greg Vaughan On Arianne Zucker’s Exit, ‘Nicole Was A Light For Eric’

Days Of Our Lives spoilers revealed that Arianne Zucker was leaving the NBC soap opera. That day has come and gone, but everyone is missing the actress and character. In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Greg Vaughan discussed saying farewell to someone he has worked with for many years. He also spoke about how important Nicole Walker was to Eric Brady.

Eric and Nicole, dubbed “Ericole” by fans, have a long history together. Each time it seemed like they would find lasting happiness, something managed to tear them apart. That is exactly what made Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) ultimatum so devastating. In the magazine, Greg Vaughan explained that Nicole was more than just a love interest to Eric.

“Nicole was a light for Eric in so many ways. She was more than his significant other. She was his soul mate and best friend. So to lose the presence of Nicole, and the history that the character shared with Eric, is definitely going to be felt on-screen.”

Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Eric is reeling from Nicole leaving Salem. He doesn’t understand what happened. Before she left his cabin, they made plans for the future. Just hours later, she broke his heart and left Salem with baby Holly. Since then, he is starting to get the idea that Brady might be behind it. As fans know, he is absolutely right, but he doesn’t know everything, at least not yet.

Not only are Eric and Nicole ripped apart on Days Of Our Lives, spoilers tease what Arianne Zucker’s exit means to Greg Vaughan. He has worked with the actress for 20 years. While he will miss seeing her on set, he understands her journey. Vaughan even left DOOL for a little while to work on Queen Of Sugar.

“She’s in a happy place. Ari and I have known each other for 20 years. Days is a big family and there is a camaraderie that carries outside of work. We have a good history of friendship. There is definitely a missing piece to the show without her presence, but no matter if Ari is on Days or not, she has left a big mark on the show.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Days Of Our Lives spoilers for November sweeps reveal that Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) will be by Eric’s side. Don’t worry, it doesn’t appear that he is going to jump into a relationship just yet. He is too torn apart by losing Nicole. At this moment, Eric and Jennifer are rebuilding their friendship. Jennifer’s role is to be there for him and help him process the loss and move past his heartbreak.
