‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: JT Back For Reed Tragedy – Halloween Blaze To Blame

The Young and the Restless spoilers revealed this week that JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) is heading back to the CBS soap. It’s been seven years since reformed bad-boy JT was in Genoa City. He’s still married to Mackenzie Browning (Clementine Ford) and currently lives in Warsaw, Poland with their young child. So, what brings happily wedded JT back to GC all the way from Poland? The answer lies in the tragic fate of Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu) after the fire at The Underground on Halloween.

JT to stay a couple of months

According to Soap Hub, Thad Luckinbill’s return will be in late November and could last for several months. Some sites have pointed to Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) toxic poisoning as the reason for JT’s return, but that doesn’t seem very likely. Vikki will be okay and out of the hospital soon enough. Plus, why would JT race back to Genoa City for his ex-wife? Plus, there’s no way that JT would stick around for a few months to take care of Victoria. They’re no longer close, and he loves Mac.

However, JT would definitely come running back to town for his son Reed. The latest issue of CBS Soaps in Depths reveals that The Underground is set ablaze on Halloween and the teenagers are trapped inside. The fire puts Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and her twin Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) in danger along with JT’s son Reed. If Reed is grievously injured in the blaze, that would explain why JT comes rushing back to Wisconsin all the way from Poland.

Nick starts the blaze

After seeing Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Scott Grainger (Daniel Hall), and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) gets jealous and goes to The Underground to pout. Nick is fuming about Scott and angry that Victor told him he bought the local liquor distributor and is raising his rates. Y&R spoilers from the new promo show that Nick fears his dad is going to wreck his business and says he’d rather “torch the place” than let Victor win.

The latest Young and the Restless spoilers promo shows a ring of fire engulfs the bar starting from where Nick was playing with matches. Young and the Restless spoilers tease Nick didn’t set the blaze on purpose, but the bar goes up in flames after he leaves. What’s worse is that the frightened teens can’t get to the door and are trapped. Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) comes looking for his kids, and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) tries to save Reed – maybe to make up for poisoning Victoria on accident. Nick rushes in at the last minute, too.

Reed risks his life to save Mattie

Some Young and the Restless spoilers (and rumors) hint that Reed risks his life to save Mattie and he will wind up clinging to life from terrible injuries from the fire. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is to blame for the fire. Soap Hub speculated that Reed might die, but the timeline doesn’t make sense. If Reed dies on Halloween, why would JT show up almost a month later? It makes much more sense for Reed to be injured, possibly comatose, and then JT shows up when Reed takes a turn for the worse.

With Mal Young just taking over the writing, he might have decided to cut some of the teenage stories and to kill Reed would accomplish that for sure. The new Y&R spoilers promo shows Victoria is devastated as she’s told that no one could have survived the fire. It looks like Reed puts his life on the line to save his sweetie and then Billy goes in trying to save Vikki’s son. Someone will wind up in the hospital, and there might also be a trip to the morgue.
