Nathan Fillion, Of ‘Castle’ Fame, Is Returning To Prime-Time In New Show
Fans of Castle have missed seeing Nathan Fillion on television, but it turns out that he is returning. TV Guide shared the details about his new show, which will air next year. Former Castle showrunner Alexi Hawley is the one behind the show, and it is called The Rookie. It was actually ordered straight to series and will air on ABC in 2018.
Nathan Fillion will be back in a crime-fighting role, but this one is a bit different. He will play John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police department. Nolan was living in a small town, but decided to move to L.A. and become a police officer. This is a big move for him, but seems to be just what he needs. John Nolan is an older police officer, but he is living his dream right next to guys 20 years younger. This is a pretty big difference in age, but older cops do it all the time.
The new show that Nathan Fillion is joining is actually based on a true story. The Rookie will be air sometime in 2018 on ABC. The show sounds like it will be a bit different from Castle in that it will be a bit more of a comedy. At least, Fillion will be playing the role of a cop, which he is used to, based on his previous roles.
When Castle came to an end, fans always hoped that he would be back on television again soon. He was on the Netflix show A Series of Unfortunate Events during Season 2 as well. Now that he is coming back to broadcast network television, fans of Castle will be ready to see what he can end up doing
