Heath Ledger’s NYC Apartment Reportedly Haunted, Neighbors Claim They Hear Creepy Joker Laugh At Night

Heath Ledger’s pricey New York City apartment where he passed away is reportedly haunted — at least according to the late actor’s neighbors.

In an exclusive report by Radar Online, it has been alleged that The Dark Knight actor’s death house is spooking some of his neighbors at night. According to the webloid, there were reports of eerie sounds and sights coming from Heath’s apartment.

Apparently, Ledger’s former apartment in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood is now being avoided by some of his neighbors because of their alleged scary experiences.

Speaking with the webloid, a woman who claimed to be Heath’s neighbor shared her spooky encounter while passing by the actor’s house.

“I hear noises — strange noises at night that scare me,” the unnamed woman claimed. “I just say to myself that it’s the wind or the street noise, but it is very scary to me.”

Another one backed up the claims, adding that she also heard a creepy familiar laugh as she walks by the house after her late-night shift at a restaurant.

Apparently, the woman often hears what sounded like Heath’s laugh as the Joker in the movies.

“I hear laughing, but it’s not the joyful sort,” she noted. “I’ve seen the movie, and if I told you that the laughing didn’t remind me of the way Heath sounded as The Joker, I’d be lying, as crazy as that sounds.”

Interestingly, sources claimed that Ledger, who played the psychotic clown The Joker, had turned his apartment into a “shrine” to his iconic character.

Allegedly, the actor filled his house with Batman comic books as well as books about The Joker and clowns.

“He was studying up on the origins of clowns, and all of the previous Jokers like Jack Nicholson’s character and Cesar Romero’s,” the source added.

True enough, after his death, investigators discovered clown statues, audio recordings of himself practicing his Joker voice, and a Joker journal with the word “bye bye” written on the back of one page.

Meanwhile, Radar Online checked out Heath Ledger’s apartment using a natural electromagnetic meter. Apparently, the said device measures the presence of spirits.

Dom Vinella, a veteran investigator at Paranormal NYC, explained that there has always been a belief that spiritual energy is composed of natural electromagnetic fields, thus can be detected using the EMF detector.

As it turns out, a reading taken at 2:43 a.m came back eight times higher than the second one taken two days earlier around 12:34 p.m.

It can be recalled that Heath died on January 22, 2008, from cardiac arrest caused by prescription drug intoxication. According to reports, the actor took too many painkillers, sleeping pills, and anti-anxiety drugs, costing him his life.

Heath Ledger won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role The Joker in The Dark Knight.
