Why Fifth Harmony Fans Are Livid After Being ‘Ignored’ By The Band
Fifth Harmony fans have been left livid with the girl band after they suddenly postponed their upcoming tour in Australia without warning. Fans of the “He Like That” singers have been slamming the girls on social media over the past few days after they failed to even acknowledge that they’ll no longer be heading down under this week.
A number of angry Twitter users lashed out at the group, made up of Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke Hernandez, and Dinah Jane Hansen, after they claimed that they were not given notice from the girls that the band would no longer be performing their scheduled “PSA Tour” dates in Australia this month and had been ignored.
“Can you guys please f***ing acknowledge Australia?” one fan asked 5H on Twitter with a broken heart emoji. “Completely ignoring us is causing you to lose fans! #PSATour #Harmonizers.”
“GIVE AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND AN ANSWER FOR CANCELLING THE PSA TOUR,” another tweeted the band after being left in the dark regarding their decision to cancel their trip down under.
“@FifthHarmony fans in Australia have been with you through thick and thin and we don’t even get an apology,” another said on the social media site this week, adding the hashtag #justicefor5hAUS.
Others claimed that they were left so in the dark by Fifth Harmony suddenly canceling their shows that they would have turned up to the venue had they not taken the initiative to look up if their concert was still going ahead.
“Thank f*** I looked up Fifth Harmony Australia or I would have rocked up tomorrow being like where the f*** is everyone….,” @kiwiiharryy tweeted on October 25.
“Wow okay apparently Fifth Harmony postponed their Australia tour and they didn’t acknowledge it on Twitter [or Facebook],” wrote another disgruntled follower, sarcastically adding, “Good job.”
5H was initially set to head down under this month for a string of shows in New Zealand and Australia but previously confirmed that they had canceled their concerts in New Zealand due to what they described in a statement as being an unforeseen scheduling conflict.
“The band want to issue a heartfelt apology for any disappointment or inconvenience caused to their fans,” their management said in a statement when addressing the canceled shows, but did not elaborate on the issue.
Rumors then swirled that their Australian shows would then be canceled too after The Industry Observer alleged that low ticket sales may force Live Nation to end the tour.
The band themselves didn’t officially comment on speculation low ticket sales could be to blame, but a statement confirmed shortly afterward that the tour would not be going ahead this year. They originally scheduled concerts in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane for October and November.
Though the Fifth Harmony girls have all stayed quiet on social media, Australian fans were instead told by the ticketing site Ticketek that another scheduling conflict meant that they would be rescheduling the concerts to next year.
“Due to a change in scheduling, it has become necessary to postpone the tour until March 2018,” the statement read, noting that the shows would now take place in 2018 apart from their originally scheduled tour date in Perth which was canceled.
The news of the cancellation then caused even more frustration for fans of the “Angel” singers.
“Really don’t enjoy how 5H have handled the mess that was New Zealand and Australia. Not cool man,” one Fifth Harmony fan tweeted. “5H didn’t only cancel their Australia Tour they canceled themselves,” said another.
