Why Did Tamar Braxton File For Divorce From Husband Vince Herbert?

After months of rumors of drama in their marriage and even domestic abuse allegations, Tamar Braxton has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, music producer Vince Herbert, just one month before what would have been their ninth wedding anniversary.

According to TMZ, Braxton allegedly filed for divorce on October 24 in Los Angeles after denying on multiple occasions over the past few months that her marriage to Vince was in trouble.

Braxton hasn’t yet publicly commented on the divorce report, though a source close to the couple alleged that the filing appears to have been a long time coming for the singer and reality star who started dating Vince in 2003.

According to insiders, Tamar and Vince have had “a rollercoaster relationship” while the outlet also claimed that Braxton “recently moved out of the family home.” It’s not clear if the “My Man” singer took their son, 4-year-old Logan Herbert, with her.

But while Tamar hasn’t yet spoken out regarding TMZ’s report that her marriage to Vince is over, the two have been plagued by rumors of marriage issues over the past few months.

Braxton alluded to the drama in her marriage just last month when she told Entertainment Tonight that her latest album, Blue Bird of Happiness, would be her last because she wanted to focus on her relationship with her husband.

“There’s a lot of things that are going on in my relationship and me being close to this music industry,” she explained in September of why she would not be making another album. “Whatever I can do to eliminate all of the stress and problems off of my relationship, I would rather do that.”

“My husband and I work very close together and it’s really hard,” Tamar continued just weeks before reportedly filing for divorce, referring to Vince working behind the scenes on her new album.

Braxton made the admission shortly after fans speculated that a divorce was coming sooner, rather than later for the star after she broke down in tears while talking to her followers during an Instagram Live session.

Though she wouldn’t clarify exactly who she was talking about as fans speculated that she was referring to her husband, Tamar cried as she told her fans that there was someone in her life who wasn’t treating her right, and she said that she felt she deserves better from the relationship.

She then posted a very cryptic post to Instagram that read, “I am slowly learning that some people are not good for me, no matter how much I love them.”

The latest round of marriage drama came after both Braxton and Herbert were reported to have been caught up in an alleged domestic dispute in August 2016.

Though both have denied the claims, TMZ alleged that Tamar’s assistant called the police on her husband after they got into an argument while in Atlanta, Georgia, that allegedly saw Herbert bite Braxton on the hand.

But despite the reports, Tamar was quick to make it clear that she and Herbert were not splitting after they were seen holding hands at the airport while making their way back to L.A. from Atlanta.

She then denied any marriage problems to awaiting paparazzi.

“Just because somebody says something doesn’t make it law,” Tamar said when asked about the fight reports according to LoveBScott.com. “I’m not even [trying to] defend my relationship to anybody. Ever. This is a marriage.”

“This is not my baby daddy. This is not my boyfriend. We don’t live together. This is my husband for 13 years,” she then continued, adding that she was “good” and “happy,” and anyone speculating about the state of her marriage could “have several seats.”

But while Tamar denied the allegations last year, Daily Mail then reported that the couple supposedly had another domestic dispute shortly afterward, and the cops were called to their home in California.

The source also alleged that the Braxton Family Values star’s famous sisters, Toni, Towanda, Traci, and Trina, were supposedly present during the altercation and claimed that they were “happy that the real dynamic between Tamar and Vince is getting out” because they were worried about their sister’s safety.

Tamar and Vince both denied the allegations.
