Beyonce And Cardi B Collaboration News Leaked, Rapper Not Happy About It
Is a Beyonce and Cardi B collaboration in the works? According to a source, the two artists are reportedly working together on a track. However, the rapper is reportedly upset that the news got out even before they could announce it themselves.
Cardi B gained unprecedented success with the release of her breakthrough hit “Bodak Yellow,” and it appears that she’s ready to take on new heights with her rumored collaboration with Beyonce. According to Billboard, Cardi B’s engineer, Michael Ashby, shared a video via his Instagram story that showed a track titled “Cardi B n Beyonce.” He added that “this feature is big.” Ashby is also the engineer behind Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.”
While fans are excited to hear Cardi B’s upcoming music, the rapper is reportedly upset about the leak. Cardi B’s and Beyonce’s representatives have not confirmed the reports.
In a previous interview with Detroit News, Cardi B revealed that she has already met Beyonce. “I’m surprised Beyonce liked me,” she shared. When they met, Cardi B couldn’t help but get star-struck.”It’s like, ‘Oh my God!’ That’s how it feels like. I can’t talk, I can’t breathe,” she said.
“It feels amazing and it’s overwhelming. It’s like, it fills me up with lot of happiness and a lot of joy. It’s just like unbelievable. I’ve been through so many things and I worked so hard for me to be here, and it’s like I’m finally here getting what I wanted, (and getting) the respect from other artists and from everybody.”
Cardi B was expected to drop a new album in October, but she confirmed in an interview with Billboard that the release is being delayed. She admitted that although she’s nervous about the project, she believes her material is “pretty good.” She added that she’s feeling a lot of pressure after the massive success of “Bodak Yellow,” which shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, dethroning Grammy-winner Taylor Swift and her song “Look What You Made Me Do.” Her achievement made her the first female rapper to top the chart without any accompanying artist since Lauryn Hill came out with “Doo-Wop (That Thang)” in 1998.
Over the weekend, the Bronx native was kicked out of a hotel in Albany for suspected use of illegal drugs. In a video posted on her social media page, the rapper explained that she did not smoke weed, including members of her team. She complained that the reason why she and her group was kicked out was unjustified and that she’s willing to get tested for drugs to prove that she didn’t smoke.
Prior to breaking out as a rapper, Cardi B was a mainstay on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop New York for two seasons.
