Julia Louis-Dreyfus Shares Photo From Second Round Of Chemo — Quotes Katy Perry For Inspiration
It’s been three weeks since Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus announced on Instagram that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The 11-time Emmy winner had just added two more statues to her collection a week earlier, and no one saw her shocking news coming. Louis-Dreyfus found out about her cancer diagnosis the day after her historic Emmy wins.
Now Louis-Dreyfus is sharing her first photo documenting her cancer journey with her Instagram followers, and made sure to quote Katy Perry in the process.
The Seinfeld icon announced she had finished her second round of chemo, and let her followers know she’s “NOT f***ing around here.” Louis-Dreyfus then quoted a lyric from Katy Perry’s “Roar.” She thanked Perry for her “hilarious and loving inspiration,” in addition to her Veep co-stars Tony Hale and Timothy Stevens.
The post was Louis-Dreyfus’s first photo of herself since her diagnosis. The actress is sporting a black hoodie, aviator sunglasses, and a drawn on mustache. It seems the 56-year-old has not lost her sense of humor during this extremely difficult time.
When the mother-of-two broke the news back in September, she explained she had a wonderful network of family and friends to stick behind her during this difficult time. She then used her platform to bring about change in the healthcare system.
She then went on the explain she has “fantastic insurance” as a member of a union. She admits not all cancer patients are as lucky as her and pushed to “make universal healthcare a reality.”
Louis-Dreyfus was flooded with support from her fans and actors alike. Olivia Munn, Christina Applegate, Wanda Sykes, Jason Alexander, Anna Kendrick, and Debra Messing were just some of the celebrities to share their love and support with the star.
Real life “Veep” Joe Biden even shared a touching tweet in support of his friend.
After this evening’s chemo post, stars like Amy Schumer and Kat Dennings showed their support in the comment section, E! News reports. There has been no response from Katy Perry just yet.
Louis-Dreyfus will portray President Selina Meyer for one more season of Veep. The series will come to an end with Season 7 in 2018.
