Several WWE Superstars Reportedly Suffering From Illness, Possible Impact On ‘TLC’ PPV This Sunday
The WWE is set to hold its annual TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view that is exclusive to Monday Night Raw. However, this Sunday’s event is in danger of undergoing lots of changes because of several WWE superstars possibly sick. The illness is reportedly contagious and its first victims were three WWE superstars who missed Raw this past Monday.
As first reported earlier this week, Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas were absent in the past couple episodes of Monday Night Raw, as well as live events. There were speculations that the real-life brothers could be on their way out of the WWE, or there is a serious family matter they had to attend to. JoJo Offerman, Wyatt’s real-life partner, also missed this week’s Raw. The WWE explained Dallas’ absence two weeks ago as being “under the weather” while Wyatt appeared in a pre-taped video segment.
According to PW Insider, Dallas is the one who caught the illness and he was diagnosed with viral meningitis. He was reportedly sent home to prevent further spreading of the virus with Wyatt and Offerman being kept away from the rest of the WWE main roster as a precaution. Viral meningitis is highly infectious and it causes inflammation of the tissue that covers the brain.
Some people might not get sick but they could be carriers of the virus, per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms of viral meningitis include headache, fever, nausea, and sensitivity to light. People infected with the virus get better on their own in seven to ten days but some might need treatment because the symptoms could be present for months.
After the news of the illness spread, there was fear among the WWE locker room regarding a possible outbreak. Pro Wrestling Votes reports that other WWE superstars have caught viral meningitis and they are in danger of missing TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs this Sunday. WWE superstars not being able to perform will cause a lot of changes to the pay-per-view.
I am hearing other Superstars may indeed be suffering from the same illness, and it may drastically impact Sunday's PPV event.

The source is somewhat credible because they are the first ones to break the report about Neville quitting the WWE two weeks and Nia Jax being unhappy with her role this week. If some WWE superstars indeed miss the event this Sunday, the already-weak TLC match card is only going to get weaker. The match that is most endangered of being canceled is Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt.
However, it should be noted that these are still just speculations at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. Tom Phillips missing SmackDown Live this past Tuesday is a red flag since he might have caught the illness and he was sent home. Nevertheless, the WWE won’t be stopped by viral meningitis as it holds TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs on Sunday at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
