Ivana Trump Rants In Her New Memoir ‘Raising Trump’ About ‘Showgirl’ Marla Maples
Ivana Trump, the first ex-wife of President Donald Trump has said that Marla Maples is nothing to her, so much so that she doesn’t even use her name, calling her the “showgirl.” But if that’s true, why is so much type in “Raising Trump’ dedicated to Marla Maples? Ivana Trump rants in her new memoir about the “showgirl and her daughter,” blaming Maples for Donald Trump’s infidelity instead of blaming Donald Trump.
But while most of Ivana’s ire is reserved for Marla Maples, she has still found time to take a few jabs at the current Mrs. Trump, Melania Trump, by saying that she, Ivana, is really the First Lady.
“Melania is there and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or anything like that because I’m the first Trump wife. I’m the first lady, ok?”
Then, in interviews, Ivana Trump threw some more serious shade and said that if she were the current First Lady in the White House, she could whip things into shape in two weeks flat.
“[I] would I straighten up the White House in 14 days? Absolutely. Can I give the speech for 45 minutes without [a] teleprompter? Absolutely. Can I read a contract? Can I negotiate? Can I entertain? Absolutely. But I would not really like to be there. I like my freedom.”
But while Ivana Trump rants that she doesn’t care enough about Marla Maples to call her by name, Trump goes on and on about Maples, but won’t call her “Marla Maples,” but instead “the showgirl” in her memoir, Raising Trump. In the memoir and in interviews to promote her memoir, Ivana Trump not only calls Marla Maples a showgirl but also says Maples is “a nobody” who “never achieve [sic] anything in her life.”
In criticizing Marla Maples for allegedly taking her husband, Ivana Trump manages to remove all blame from her husband, Donald Trump, who cheated on her. In fact, Ivana Trump manages to pay Donald compliments for doing the right thing by marrying the pregnant Maples.
“After the showgirl got pregnant and had a daughter, Donald married her. The whole world was watching. He couldn’t not wed the mother of his new baby, regardless of whether his heart was really in it.”
Ivana also took the time in her memoir Raising Trump to tell the world that even though she didn’t ask them to, none of her children went to their father, Donald Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples.
“None of [my] children went to Donald’s Christmas 1993 wedding; and not because I asked them to protest it. It wasn’t my business. We didn’t speak at home about it at all.”
But after Ivana Trump complains at length about the “showgirl (Maples),” she stresses that she isn’t bitter at all because she has wonderful children and an amazing life. But perhaps she protests a bit too much about Marla Maples?
“I’m not saying that if it weren’t for the showgirl [Maples], Donald and I would still be together or that my life since our divorce hasn’t been a wonderful adventure of love, travel, success, and laughter. I’ve had a fabulous life.”

But in Raising Trump, Ivana Trump overplays the “showgirl” hand. For someone who doesn’t care enough to use Marla Maples’ actual name, Ivana Trump seems to have followed her every move in the press for the last 25 years. Despite her protestations, it’s obvious that Ivana Trump’s grudge against Marla Maples is still alive and well. Ivana Trump still insists that Maples should not have tempted Donald Trump who had a wife, and was the father “of three small children.”

Ivana Trump calls Marla Maples a “disgrace” for appearing on Dancing With the Stars, sounding a lot like her former husband with an exclamation.
“No class!”
Ivana Trump claims that the people behind Dancing With the Stars have asked her “a hundred times” to be on the show and have “offered a mint,” but she would never do such a thing.
“But I wouldn’t go on that show, dancing in those tiny dresses with the boobs and butt hanging out.”
Ivana Trump then continues her rant saying that she is a better ex-wife to Donald Trump than Marla Maples because she would never embarrass Donald by going on Dancing With the Stars.
“The showgirl appeared on DWTS when (because) her ex-husband was running for president! It was disrespectful to do the show. I never would have embarrassed Donald that way.”
