Braun Strowman Rules ‘Monday Night Raw’ And Develops The Shield’s Emerging Storyline
The WWE has unleashed a monster in Braun Strowman. Throughout 2017 Strowman has become a true “Monster Among Men” as he swept all before him. Strowman has become the mainstay of Monday Night Raw and finally headlined a WWE PPV event when he met Brock Lesnar at No Mercy. Strowman’s feud with Roman Reigns was arguably the best WWE promo of 2107 and Strowman even faced down The Undertaker during the buildup to WrestleMania 33. The only surprise is that Strowman has not yet walked away with one of the WWE’s major titles.
As reported by the official WWE website, last night’s Monday Night Raw saw former Shield-brother Seth Rollins become Strowman’s latest victim. Rollins put up a brave fight, but Strowman’s Running Powerslam ensured that Rollins went the way of many before him, flat out on the deck.
After the match, Strowman continued to inflict damage on Rollins, even after Dean Ambrose, another former Shield-brother, intervened. Strowman made short work of Ambrose too. As reported earlier by the Inquisitr, both Rollins and Ambrose joined Roman Reigns in the locker room at the end of last night’s Monday Night Raw, giving the strongest hint to date that The Shield reunion is very much a reality.
After Strowman’s rivalry with Reigns and his annihilation of Ambrose and Rollins in consecutive editions of Monday Night Raw, it seems clear that the WWE is writing Strowman into The Shield storyline. Pop Culture suggests that Strowman will have a major role to play in the resurrection of The Shield.
Of course, theoretically, Strowman won’t be able to take on The Shield by himself. The obvious route would be to have Strowman rejoin the Wyatt Family so that they could feud with The Shield and the Miztourage. However, with Bray Wyatt building his feud with Finn Baylor, this seems unlikely.
Could this mean that Strowman is set to head up a new heel stable? Samoa Joe would be an ideal tag team partner for Strowman, but if the WWE is looking for a three-man team who could the third member be? Finn Balor taking a heel turn would be great entertainment, but that would upset the balance of his feud with Bray Wyatt.
As Rolling Stone suggests, the WWE still has room to grow Braun Strowman, he has been promoted in a consistent manner, and as a result has become WWE Raw’s top attraction. Having Strowman rejoin the Wyatt Family would be a retrograde step, but a Strowman-led heel stable would be an exciting development that allowed Strowman to become a “Leader Among Men,” as well as a monster.
