‘Modern Family’s’ Ty Burrell And Eric Stonestreet Feuding
Looks like the Modern Family dads are fighting; sort of. Emmy winners Ty Burell and Eric Stonestreet are apparently feuding, but it’s not what you think. Both Stonestreet and Burrell are feuding over football.
As it turns out, Eric and Ty’s separate alma maters are competing against each other in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, which is coming up relatively soon. Stonestreet’s alma mater is Kansas State Wildcats while Burrell will be rooting for his own University of Oregon Ducks. Sounds like an episode of Modern Family in the making.
Stonestreet told E! earlier in the day, “We have a bet.” Stonestreet continued, elaborating on the little tiff: “We’re doing the traditional thing where whoever loses has to wear the winning team’s regalia from head to toe. He’ll have to wear all Kansas State to work one day or I’m going to have to wear all Oregon. But then we’re going to make a nice donation to the theater department of the winning school.”
This isn’t the first time Eric Stonestreet has landed himself in the news. Earlier in the year it was said that Stonestreet was secretly dating Charlize Theron which he confirmed during the Emmy ceremony, to his chagrin, that those rumors weren’t true. His rep also told PEOPLE magazine, “There is nothing romantic going on between them. He has only met Charlize twice!”
Stonestreet was a good sport about the whole thing and tweeted:
I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating. Its starting to make Halle Berry jealous.
