Shaun White Donates Hair To Locks of Love Charity [Video]
Shaun White’s long red locks of hair are gone. The championship snowboarder cut off his hair this week and donated his signature locks to the charity Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
White said:
“I’ve been thinking about this one for a while, but it’s for a good cause, so I’m going to do it. Somebody needs it more than I do.”
White may have been thinking about cutting off his hair for a while, but, according to the snowboarder, he didn’t tell anyone about the decision. White said that he was looking forward to “mind freaking” people after the haircut.

“I haven’t told anyone I’m doing this. I’m just going to show up and mind-freak people.”
White, a 14-time X Games gold medalist and two time Olympic Gold Medalist, got his snowboard season off to the right start last weekend when he won the first superpipe contest of the Dew Tour iOn Mountain Championship. White’s professional life is moving smoothly at the moment, but his public image took a little hit over the summer.
White was arrested after going on a drunken rampage at a hotel earlier this year. If the subsequent mugshot caused White to loose any fans, hopefully his charitable act this week will make up for it.
Here’s the video of Shaun White cutting off his hair.
Are you a fan of Shaun White? What do you think of his new haircut?
The Olympic snowboarder isn’t the only celebrity to donate their hair to charity this year. A group of cheerleaders from the Indianapolis Colts shaved their head in support of coach Chuck Pagano and Kellie Pickler shaved her head to support a friend who was diagnosed with cancer.
