AT&T Wireless on Sunday announced a surprise sale that includes $100 off various tablet devices including Apple iPads and Google Android tablets.

The devices include 7-inch and larger tablets and require a two-year data plan. AT&T is even offering the discount on the newer iPad Mini and LTE Retina iPad models in all size and setup options.

Buyers looking to save some extra cash can also take $100 off refurbished 16GB or 32GB iPad’s with Wi-Fi + Cellular. The latter device can be picked up for just $429.

Among popular Google Android tablets available are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 models. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 will run buyers $199 with a two-year cellular contract.

Even Windows 8 tablets are also getting in on the sale with two models: Samsung ATIV Smart PC and the ASUS VivoTab RT. Windows 8 tablets are sold at a premium but still offer the same $100 off discount to ease the cost of acquisition.

Buyers can take advantage of the AT&T tablet sale through the end of December 2012.

Upgrades are not included in the deal, although AT&T customers with current service can activate a new data line to receive the same $100 discount.

A sale on iPad devices couldn’t come at a better time for Apple. Recent reports have suggested that customers are souring on the Apple iPhone line of device, quite possibly leading the iPhone 5 to sell less smartphones than the iPhone 4S line.

Will you be taking advantage of AT&T Wireless’ $100 off sale for iPad, Android, and Windows 8 tablets?
