Leave It To Bieber? ABC Developing Sitcom About Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber may soon get his own TV show. ABC is reportedly developing a new sitcom about the pop superstar’s life.
Bieber would executive produce the show but it doesn’t look like he’ll have a starring role. The show will reportedly be like a family-friendly version of Entourage. The hit HBO show was loosely based off of executive producer Mark Wahlberg’s life. Wahlberg appeared in the show occasionally so maybe Bieber will do the same.
According to TV Guide, the show will also be executive produced by Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, as well as Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. Wolpart and Nedivi, who wrote several episodes of the show Entourage, will also be writing the pilot script for Bieber’s new sitcom.
TV Guide writes: “The untitled family show would center on Bieber’s background before he got famous. The comedy is about a future pop star’s awkward teenage years and his unorthodox family.”
ABC started working on the single camera comedy last year but eventually scrapped the idea. Thankfully for Bieber fans, the idea has been revived and is being considered for next season.
Bieber is primarily known as a musician but he’s also had some success on television. He landed a guest spot on CSI last year and also hosted an episode of Punk’d.
