Kids of the 80s and 90s, you have another reason to rejoice. Conceptual images from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles unreleased fourth film has been released, as well with one revealed secret about the beloved franchise.

Everyone who’s familiar with the Ninja Turtles is well aware that the four turtles are named after famous artists in history. However, new details have emerged about the franchise about a fifth turtle! The fifth turtle was named after a comic book legend, which never came to fruition. The conceptualized Turtles by co-creator Kevin Eastman had proposed a fourth live-action film. The film was supposed to be darker, and not kid friendly. The turtle would have been named Kirby.

Eastman recently put up his original drawings up at an auction at Heritage Auctions which explains the concept art as:

“Kevin Eastman – Character Designs for Unfilmed Fourth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Original Art Lot of 25 (1995-97).Many of these 14 pieces also have art on the backs, for a total of 25 pages of art! Many are devoted to Kirby, the “fifth turtle,” but also featured are Fang, Shredder, Spyder, Nano Spyder, Super Shredder, Kasey, Talbot, Lawson, Bugman, and Evil April. Each piece measures 8.5? x 12?. All are rendered in pen, with one color piece in watercolor and the others in marker.”

Here are some of the conceptual drawings of the turtles, which also includes the reveal of the fifth turtle, Kirby.

If you win these images, you also get script cover pages by Christian Ford and Roger Soffer, which was rewritten by Craig Shapiro and John Travis.

Even though Kirby was never seen on the big screen, a fourth Ninja Turtle film is coming in the near future.
