Connie Britton Reacts To Golden Globe Nomination
The Golden Globes have given Connie Britton one more thing to be joyous about this holiday season.
The actresses’ role on the ABC network show Nashville has landed her a Globe nod for her portrayal of fictional country superstar Rayna James. Also getting a nomination was Britton’s co-star Hayden Panettiere, who received a supporting actress nomination.
USA Today writes that Britton was delighted for the young actress:
“I just think it’s so thrilling. I feel she’s incredible on the show. The whole cast is amazing. We all have a blast working together. I’m super happy for (Hayden), and I’m so excited that we’re going to be able to go to the Golden Globes together. Wooo!”
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the nominations at the Beverly Hilton early this morning.
According to the LA Times, Connie Britton was alerted to the good news while she and her 22-month-old son were watching videos on her iPhone.
“We were watching videos of him and his little girlfriend and all of a sudden, on top of the screen, popped up an email from my manager. My honey let me check it,” she said.
The actress added, “It’s so crazy. I have to tell you, that is something I never ever thought would happen. It’s the season of cool news.”
This will be the first time Britton has been recognized by the Globes, though her appearances in the shows Friday Night Lights and American Horror Story have brought her Emmy nominations.
