‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Stars Tom Holland And Zendaya Reportedly Dating
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland and Zendaya are reportedly dating, sources revealed.
A source told E! News that Tom, 21, and Zendaya, 20, got to know each other while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming. They quickly became friends and started to develop romantic feelings for each other a few months before the release of the film.
The source added that both Tom and Zendaya are well liked on-set and get along with everyone.
“Tom is the most down to earth actor,” the source said about the British actor.
When Tom got his Spider-Man-themed tattoo at Bang Bang Tattoo a few months ago, Zendaya reportedly accompanied him.
Another source told People that Tom and Zendaya have been super careful, as they want to keep their relationship out of the public eye. It was also said that they’ve gone on several vacations together and spend as much time with each other as possible.
“They’re both really ambitious and they challenge each other — but, most importantly, they make each other crack up,” the source said. “They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”
Indeed, the young Marvel stars are drawing attention on Instagram and Twitter for their witty exchanges. When Zendaya posted a red carpet photo with the caption, “Stealing hearts since 96,” Tom responded with a photo of his own and captioning it “Stealing hearts since never.”
The conversation went to Twitter, where Zendaya jokingly said “I really can’t stand him” with a laughing emoji. Tom fired back with, “Apart from when you want a part in Spiderman 2.” Their conversation came to a close with a warning from Zendaya, who said Tom should “tread lightly” since she still has more followers than him.
In an interview, Tom Holland said he and Zendaya are like best of friends.
“She’s so great and amazing,” Tom said about her co-star and alleged real-life lady love. He revealed that he asks Zendaya for advice on how to deal with fame and that he’s glad to have a friend like her.
But before fans could celebrate another Spider-Man couple, Zendaya and Tom quickly shut down the dating rumors on Twitter.
Zendaya poked fun at the reports, saying, “Wait wait…my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years!”
Tom replied, “Does the press tour count?”
If it’s true that Tom Holland and Zendaya are indeed dating, they would be following in the footsteps of past Spider-Man couples. Toby Maguire and Kristen Dunst first started dating while filming the 2002 film Spider-Man. However, their relationship ended before they started shooting Spider-Man 3.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone got together after filming The Amazing Spider-Man. Although their version of Spider-Man did not continue to a trilogy, Andrew and Emma were a couple for a while after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wrapped up. They confirmed their split in 2015, but remain completely supportive of each other.
When Emma was receiving awards left and right for her performance in La La Land, Andrew cheered her on. When she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress, Andrew gave her a standing ovation.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Andrew said the following about his ex-leading lady.
“There’s so much love between us and so much respect… It’s also been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other.”
Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Homecoming has been crushing the box office. According to Forbes, the film has grossed $144.2 million domestically as of July 11. This brings the film’s earnings close to its $175 million production budget.
Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Michael Keaton.
